The Judicial Commission of Victoria operates in a highly regulated environment where clarity, accuracy and public trust are critical. Its Annual Report must communicate complex procedural and governance information in a way that is authoritative, transparent and accessible.

Bite was engaged to design the 2024–25 Annual Report and develop a visual approach that would support the report’s theme, Strengthening Understanding. The challenge was to reflect how different perspectives within the judicial system can intersect constructively, while maintaining the seriousness and integrity of the content.

We translated this idea into a restrained visual metaphor. A Venn diagram on the cover symbolised convergence and shared understanding, with the graphic device carried subtly through the publication to create cohesion.

Inside the report, disciplined layouts, clear typographic hierarchy and carefully structured infographics helped readers navigate detailed material and absorb key information without oversimplifying sensitive content.

The finished publication presents the Commission’s work with clarity, confidence and professionalism. The report was recognised with a Silver Award at the 2025 Australasian Reporting Awards, acknowledging its success in communicating complex governance information with integrity.
