Free yourself from the ordinary
The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing administers the Supporting Living Organ Donors (SLOD) Program, which reimburses donors for lost income and out-of-pocket expenses associated with organ donation.
As the program expanded in 2025, the Department needed clearer application materials to support donors and reduce the number of incomplete submissions. Existing forms and guidelines were difficult to navigate, which often resulted in confusion about eligibility requirements and the evidence needed to support a claim. This created delays for both applicants and program administrators.
Bite was engaged to develop a visual identity for the SLOD Program and apply it across a suite of application materials. This included the design of the program logo and visual architecture, along with the redesign of the main application form, program guidelines and a range of supporting documents.
The focus was on improving clarity and usability. Information was structured into clearly defined sections, supported by visual cues that guide applicants through each step of the process. Icons and infographics were introduced to help explain eligibility requirements, evidence and reimbursement categories in a more accessible way, while interactive form fields assist applicants to complete submissions accurately.
The result is a clear and cohesive document suite that supports the SLOD Program’s expanded scope while making the application process easier to understand and complete for donors.
