Branding

The Judicial Commission of Victoria is an independent body that was established to investigate complaints about judicial officers and members of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Following a comprehensive selection process, Bite was selected to develop a visual identity for the Judicial Commission of Victoria. Our first task was to create a sophisticated and contemporary logo. A great deal of consideration was given to the use of colours as the client was conscious not to use the same or similar colours as other government organisations.

Once the logo was approved, Bite proceeded to develop a visual architecture to support the JCV brand. A critical component of the new architecture was the development of a Visual Style Guide to articulate and demonstrate how the new identity and associated visual elements would be used. An important feature in the development of the visual architecture was its adherence to accessibility through WCAG. To assist users of the style guide in developing future visual communications collateral, we developed an accessibility colour matrix. This comprehensive matrix enables users to achieve WCAG AA level of accessibility for colour contrast for both ‘normal’ and ‘large’ text.

Branded communications pieces that were developed included stationery, various report templates, memo templates, email signatures, digital backdrop, pull-up banners, a suite of icons, some branded merchandise items.
